In my opinion gaming notebooks have lost their once maintained niche status. I can recollect when they were not so popular. The sales were not really great but they did bring in more money on each laptop than others. I reckon numerous people would agree they always desired a laptop for gaming however it was just out of range for the masses. In my point of view they were the best laptop computers about. They would create tons of buzz however I doubt lots of buyers would go out and buy laptop computers at steep prices. These days things are really contrasting with larger manufacturers also launching gaming portables.
Bringing their well known names into the market could afford them to charge even more. It’s a great chance for them to claw back gross margins as the margins on average notebooks are so minute nowadays. Also they are aware they can convince people to buy laptop computers like these better than small outfits. Could this be the death of smaller system builders? In my opinion the large companies will dictate the market direction. Consumers just feel a lot more confident making a major purchase from a brand name.
Surprisingly, the laptops they are manufacturing are some of the best laptop computers to date. This is probably the last service that littler brands can provide which the tier one ones can’t. I reckon consumers that get these types of notebooks like to be able to spec up their notebook. These types of customers normally are well grounded in the technology and will compare spec for spec. More often than not the specs matter when compared to the looks for these kinds of purchasers. This could be pretty beneficial from the consumers position. Eventually high end technology for your money will be the result of this change. I say that a bit hesitatingly though because the notebooks business is a pretty fast moving area. I believe technology is becoming more advanced however the new laptop computers will typically remain at premium prices. Increased competition traditionally brings us better products at lower prices so the times ahead should be great.
